PUT BLAME WHERE THE BLAME BELONGS
Last year, prices rose because of Hurricane Katrina disrupting the aging pipelines from New Orleans.
We also experienced two breaks in the same pipeline the previous year. This pipeline cannot have "preventative maintanence" done because environmentalists won't let them build an additional pipeline to take up the slack.
Now, gas prices are rising because the 30 yr old pipes up in Alaska are finally giving out. Environmentalists wouldn't let AMOCO (who originally built the pipeline) build additional lines due to "environmental impact."
There hasn't been a refinery built in this country since the 1970's - because of environmentalists.
The refineries we DO have are operating at full capacity struggling to keep up with demand, forcing us to now rely on Communist Venezuela and Saudi Arabia to refine 25% of our petroleum for us because...
environmentalists
...won't let us drill for our own oil in the Alaskan wastelands or in other areas, making us horribly dependent on foreign oil and those theives at OPEC.
And yet, we blame the oil companies for all the problems we're facing today.
Sheesh!
