SATURNINE HEART

I
Do not love you
I love no one
For I have a heart of steel
Locked away within deep granite walls
Impermeable door shut tight and sealed
The key
Forever lost.

I
Do not love you
I love no one
For my soul has grown foul
Withered and died in my depths
Decaying corpse stench a constant reminder
That no scrub
Can clean

I
Do not love you
I love no one
For I have not but ignorance
Never have known its true meaning
Nor striven for its purest form
Ceased wond�ring
Grown sardonic, sallow

Not even
Callow,
Shallow
Me
