pyroguysr's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Huzzah for Iraq! I stand corrected. It looks like it was more around 80% of Iraqis voted in most places, the gangster Sunnis excluded. Huzzah! Ive now heard liberals whining on Limbaugh and Hannity about how are we going to be reimbursed for our liberating Iraq. I think, to the average conservative, the turnout for voting was payment enough. BBC Radio reported on the polling with restraint, commenting at the end: Will this be a step toward democracy in Iraq or a stepping-stone to civil war? As Donald Sutherlands character Oddball in Kellys Heros, would say to you libs: Always with the negative waves, Moriarity, always with the negative waves! Now the cry is: When will we pull the troops out? Bush is holding firm in his stance by saying; Not until Iraq is ready. Come on, folks. This is the equivalent of California being run by a gangster like Al Capone (or, in the case of California, by Speaker Willie Brown). You dont just abandon a country after their first election. Hell, were still in Germany and Japan to make sure that the Nazis and the Imperial Guard dont rise up again and its been over 60 years! Another thing that the BBC is lamenting is the fact that the Sunis arent going to have proportional representation in the new government. Jesus Christ on a crutch! Would you give gangsters proportional representation in the Chicago City government just because they ran government there for years and years and still have people in the city??? Its bad enough we will have to help the majority suppress the fanatical, evangelistic and conservative orthodox muslims from wresting power from the people of that country and imposing a theocracy on them. But the libs on the BBC are openly wondering if the Iraqis would accept one of the ayatollas in their government. While they cant abide with Pat Robertson, Pat Buchannan or Jerry Falwell ever being in government here (snickers nor would I!), they willingly wish for that to happen in Iraq just so they can say to Bush, See? Democracy wont work there! 7:44 p.m. - 2005-01-31 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
